Black Belt Workshop is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Greensboro, AL whose mission is to promote and advocate for the Arts, artists and Arts education in the Black Belt, and to bring cultural opportunities to the region of West Alabama. We offer occasional events and programs for artists and the public, and are based in Sumac Cottage.

The Hale County Quilt Guild, a program of Black Belt Workshop, is excited to finally have a permanent spot for meetings at the Sumac Cottage. We’ve got big plans for the guild - classes with regional and national teachers, trips, an annual quilt show, sew days, challenges, and opportunities to connect with fellow quilters in the area. But we’re going to start small, with just regular monthly meetings, and grow from there. These will start once the cottage is done, in late 2024 or early 2025.
